CASES IN WHICH INVOLVED AS AN EXPERT WITNESS
• 14 May 2021 — 20 June 2021
Did Forensic examinations and filed reports for Gennet, Kallmann, Antis, Sweetman & Nichols regarding the security of an unoccupied commercial property at 100 State Street, Teaneck, New Jersey.
• My reports were used to determine whether the property was secured properly prior to a fire being set that damaged part of the site.
• 05 February 2016 — May 2017
Scott J. St. George v. Thomas Mrva, John Courtemanche, Tractor Supply Co., Inc. Cannon Safe, Inc.
Plaintiff St. George lost parts of several fingers helping to move a Cannon gun safe.
He was suing the owner, contractor, place of purchase and manufacturer contending the safe was faulty.
Hired by attorney representing Cannon Safe to do a forensic examination of the safe and be an expert witness.
Read all depositions and assisted the attorney, John A Caletri, with strategy.
Inspected the safe in Rhode Island, prepared a report including pictures of the correct lock and the one the plaintiff’s expert misidentified.
Days before giving deposition, the case was settled.
The outcome was favorable for Cannon Safe.
• May 2005
Hired by attorney to inspect a site in Westchester County New York where a safe was improperly bolted to a wood floor which resulted in the theft of the entire safe with contents.
Visited site and photographed the damaged floor. Then prepared a set of drawings showing the correct way to bolt a safe to a wood floor, and what had been done instead.
Finally, wrote a report to accompany the drawings to explain what they were showing.
My report and drawings resulted in a favorable settlement for the client of the attorney for whom I was working.
